How do I borrow an ebook?

• Download the Sora app from Apple or Google Play.

• Open the app and tap Find my school.

• Select No, I’ll search for my school.

• Search for Education Tasmania and select This is my school.

• Select Sign in using Education Tasmania and enter your Department for Education, Children and Young People (DECYP) email address and password. ( Note: if you are connected to the DECYP network, you will be logged in automatically).
• You will now see the Sora Home screen – tap on Explore at the bottom to browse and search the Education Tasmania collection.

How many ebooks or audio books can be borrowed at a time?

• You can borrow up to 3 ebook or audio titles in addition to the maximum of 8 in the physical library.

How long can ebooks be borrowed for?

• Up to 2 weeks. They will automatically expire and return at the end of the lending period.

Can I renew the items I have on loan?

• The items you have on loan cannot be renewed but you can loan them out again if they are available when the loan expires.

What happens when I place an item on hold?

• A title you place on hold will be reserved for you to check out once it becomes available. An email will then be sent detailing how to check the item out. It is reserved for 3 days after the email. Up to 2 items can be reserved at any one time.
